The Arka Works "AI in Practice" workshop series provides training in the latest Generative Design and AI tools to Real Estate Clients, Developers, Architects and Designers.
These in-person sessions are formatted over a half day, or deeper dive workshops with full participation, can be arranged over a full day. Keir will present a"no hype" programme to your team that summarises the practical benefits that the new toolset for architects can provide to augment the way you work currently.

Introduction
Half day (4 hours with coffee break)
Minimum Group Size: 5
Experience Required: Novice

A hands-on introduction to the Generative AI Toolset.  In this 4 hour session we focus on LLMs as they apply to every day practice and then image making platforms inluding Midjourney, Stable Diffusion.

Pricing is dependent on group size.  Discounts available for larger groups and multiple session booking.

Learning Outcomes

1. Working knowledge of how GenAI in architecture, what it means for the work of architects and how to best use it.
2. Fluency in best use of LLMs in practice (bid writing, report summaries, custom GPTs).
3. Fluency in Diffusion Image platforms like Midjourney so that practice can represent early design ideas effectively using advance prompting techniques and learn how to control them.
4. Broad understanding in what can be achieved using more advanced platforms like Stable Diffusion (sketch to image in context).
5. Image compositing and editing using Generative (Firefly) features in Photoshop.

Resources

After the workshops are complete, I provide a series of 17 downloadable resources in PDF form, all of which are featured in the workshops (including settings and repeatable processes) that you can then refer back to as you adopt them in your practice for various workflows (I demo these in the session).  You can then use them as many times as you like, this also means you don't need to take excessive notes during the sessions.

Full day (6 hours with coffee break and lunch)
Minimum Group Size: 3
Experience Required: Intermediate

The theme of the second workshop is "Customisation".  This 6 hour workshop is a deeper dive into using LLMs in a professional setthings in practice and on projects. We explore advanced prompting in Midjourney for conceptual work and Stable Diffusion which is the most powerful image generation tool, but much more difficult to master.  This session is more process-based and will involved more active participation that W1.

During taskwork, you will be provided with example studies with my base material to run for yourselves and by doing so you will also understand how I apply settings.

Pricing is dependent on group size.  Discounts available for larger groups and multiple session booking.

Learning Outcomes

Detailed understanding of:

1. How to build your own custom GPTs and apply them in practice.
2. Advanced prompting techniques in Midjourney, such as style tuning.
3. Sketch-to-render-in-context using ControlNets in Stable Diffusion.
4. Precision in-painting for material option testing.
5. Dreambooth training within Stable Diffusion.

Resources

Before W2, you will receive a pack of 'task files' that you can use to replicate my settings exactly in SD, these are suitable for future use on your own project.

After the workshops are complete, you will be provided with a series of 9 downloadable workflow resources in PDF form, all of which are featured in the workshops (including settings and repeatable processes) that you can then refer back to as you adopt them in your practice for various workflows (I demo these in the session).  You can then use them as many times as you like, this also means you don't need to take excessive notes during the sessions.

2 Day co-pilot package (on project)

Minimum Group Size: Single Project Team
Experience Required: Members of team must have completed W1 beforehand.
The purpose of W3 is to learn about practical implementation of the tooling demonstrated in W1 and W2 delivered on projects through active engagement.

W3 focuses on using Generative Design & AI in combination tools like Preoptima, Spacio, Forma, Parallelo and Laiout and how I use these in combination with customised GenAI tools demonstrated in W1 and W2. This workshops is delivered through active co-piloting within a project setting, working alongside a team.
‍ Learning Outcomes

Applied knowledge in combining Generative modelling applications, hand drawing, environmental modelling and GenAI rendering techniques.
Resources

All materials created during the 2 day session.

Half Day workshop (4 hours with coffee break)
Minimum Group Size: None
Experience Required: A Board-level Director or strategic technical lead must have attended W1 beforehand

Workshop 4 is focuses on building a resource that will allow a practice to decide how they will adopt AI in practice, covering a wide range of ethical and business considerations.

The idea of the workshop is to develop a simple decision-making format for a practice AI policy that can put in place suitable guardrails around important issues such as privacy, IP, copyright and environmental impact.  Attendees are provided with a moral and strategic position on each item, allowing them to decide where they fall on the lenience (fast adoption), to caution (slow adoption) spectrum for each technology and subject area.

The outcome of this workshop will be a tailored draft-policy that will enable businesses to proceed with the right information for their teams available and avoid knee-jerk decision making that could harm the practice longer term.

Workshop Outcomes

1. Defined AI Guardrails for your practice.
2. Definition of change management over time.
3. A recommended "AI Working Group" structure for your org.
4. A 10-point AI policy plan tuned to your organisation's priorities

Resources

After the workshop a draft AI Policy will be compiled for your practice and issued to you for future use and adoption.

LLMs for Professional Use
Half Day workshop (4 hours with coffee break)
Minimum Group Size: None
Experience Required: The workshop assumes attendees have been using LLMs (like Chat GPT) tentatively in practice and are looking to improve working practices, performance and quality of their outputs.

Workshop 5 is focused on how to make best use of langauge models in professional settings.  We will cover:
